Thomas has served as Children’s Pastor at Faith Community Church & School since 2021 and enjoys taking turns teaching and working in the nursery with the world’s most amazing volunteers. He also teaches Middle School Biblical Studies and Elementary U.S. History at Faith Community Christian School and serves on the board of trustees at the church. Raised in a single parent household that did not attend church, Thomas was introduced to church via the bus ministry of Crossroads Baptist Church when he was 6 years old. Thomas answered the call of Jesus Christ at the age of 7 years old and was baptized at the age of 8. When he was 9 years old, Thomas’ love of babies led him towards volunteering in the church nursery. Thomas faithfully attended church and youth groups until he became an adult.
Like many young adults, he began to seek the things of this world. At 23 years of age, Thomas joined the U.S. Army where he trained in field artillery operations. In 2005, Thomas spent 3+ months in Mississippi and Louisiana as part of the 38th Infantry Division’s humanitarian aid and relief operations after Hurricane Katrina. Thomas deployed to Iraq with the 76th Infantry Brigade in 2008 as a Military Police Officer. It was during this deployment that he started looking towards his Creator again. It would be several years before he would become fully committed to Christ’s calling on his life.
Thomas is a prime example of how God can change someone’s life if they only trust in Him. Today, he and his wife serve God together as they minister to babies, children, and teenagers at Faith Community Church & School.
